Based in NY’s Hudson Valley, singer-songwriter C.B. SMITH performs solo as well with THE LUCKY DEVILS, his acoustic quartet. He has released two albums of original songs, 2011's FLESH & BONE and the 2015 release BLUEBIRD.

"The title track…makes great use of Smith’s reedy but authoritative voice, and the band’s harmonies too.  Throughout, Megan Gugliotta’s fiddle adds a throaty warmth to the proceedings, while Bill Strohm’s bass serves as anchor...solid songs and a smart band are neither new nor old.  They’re timeless."  Michael Eck, Chronogram, June 2015

"Bluebird is essentially a live-in-the-studio record from a lithe, lyrical and capable bunch of string players."  John Burdick, Hudson Valley Almanac Weekly, January 22, 2015

"Inimitable" - Woodstock Times, January 2015

"Flesh & Bone is authentic, alright, so much so that you can hear the picks and fingertips on the metal of guitar's like you're right there in the room, feeling the electricity flash...Something ‘Bout a Train does in three minutes what most films can't accomplish in two hours in evoking the romance of rail travel."  Roll Magazine, February 2011

"A gem...from the introspective title the dark and delicious North Country Blues, Smith hits home and hits hard."  David Malachowski, Daily Freeman, Kingston, NY, March 2011

"Awesome work! C.B.'s songs ring true. There's no higher compliment as far as I am concerned."  Singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier

"A world of talent!"  Rex Fowler of Aztec Two Step

"C.B. Smith has the magical ability to turn universal truths into music that touches your heart."  Marshall Karp, New York Times bestselling author

C.B. SMITH & THE LUCKY DEVILS perform at arts centers, music clubs, libraries and events in the Hudson Valley, NYC and Boston. The band features fiddle phenom MEGAN GUGLIOTTA, Berklee-trained bassist BILL STROHM and mandolinist BRENDAN DONOVAN. Their repertoire includes a unique mix of originals, bluegrass classics (like the Bill Monroe Centennial set that was the centerpiece of their 2011 season), "grassed up" versions of American Songbook standards, and surprises like the occasional Tom Petty, Stephen Foster, Richard Thompson, Neil Young or Rolling Stones song.

MEGAN holds Masters Degrees in Music Education and Violin Performance from the University of South Carolina. She performs with the Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra and other ensembles, and is the founding director of the school orchestra program at Middletown High School in Middletown, NY. BILL, who studied bass at the Berklee College of Music, also performs with orchestras, rock and jazz groups and big bands. Mandolinist BRENDAN completes the lineup with a level of musicianship that belies his youthful demeanor.
